Idea and science content behind the project
The idea behind the project is to incorporate science practices across all of the sciences core content and align it with standards addressed in the NGSS K-12 disciplinary core ideas. This project provides ISE 320 student teachers with a tool to demonstrate our ability as teachers to incorporate a large scale project into our science curriculum. The Kedzie courtyard was formally a garden and thanks to funding, we can now restore it from the ground up. This project also provides a learning environment for future students to have the opportunity to maintain the project and build on the big ideas addressing core science areas.
